Family background
The above mentioned girl D. Dhanu Sri was living with her maternal grandmother in a small thatched hut.  Her parents were parted and remarried.  None know the whereabouts of her parents.  D. Dhanu Sri was left under the care of her grandmother.  Her grandmother tried her level to meet the needs of the child by working as an agricultural labour.  Average income in a month would be around Rs. 3200/- it may vary as per the demand and supply.  As she is growing old now she realizes her inability taking care for the child anymore.  But she is very keen about the child’s education and the child yearns for the education as well.
About the child
Dhanu Sri is a very active girl studying in 2nd standard. Her lovingly socializing habit draws her lot of friends. She is a very obedient girl and loves dance.  She is regular to school.  Her favourite subject is Tamil.

In this situation her grandmother came to know about Valarkuzhanthai Trust and its services to the children especially to the girl children. Hence her grandmother approached and explained the situation of the family and the aspiration of the girl D. Dhanu Sri. We assured her to provide support and ensured the girl’s education and guaranteed for the bright future of the child. Accordingly we accommodated the girl in Valarkuzhanthai home. She is studying well and has scored good grade marks in the recent examination.

Our main aim is to provide free education to the abandoned girls and provide a platform to achieve their goal. Accordingly we are providing free educational requirements, hostel facilities and fulfill the needs of D. Dhanu Sri. Still we have to travel many more years with the child till she settles in her life. So we request you to support to bring a luminous future in her life.
